Superwash Yarns -

Handwash in cool water with your favourite wool wash. Lay flat or block to dry. Although superwash yarn can technically be put in the washing machine, I would always recommend to handwash to keep your items looking their best for longer.

Non-Superwash Yarns -

Handwash in cold water, use minimal wool wash.

Some slight colour bleed is normal during the first few washes. I'd recommend using a colour catcher if your item uses highly contrasting colours.

Superwash bases have been treated in a manner that makes them more resistant to shrinkage. This means they can be washed at higher temperatures without the risk of felting. The superwash yarn I use has been treated in highly regulated plants, thereby minimising it's environmental impact. I always recomment hand-washing in cool water to increase the longevity of your garments.

Non-superwash bases have not had the same treatment that superwash bases have had, and are therefore slightly more delicate when it comes to washing. However, taking out this stage of treatment also makes non-superwash bases more environmentally friendly, and they are becoming much more popular because of this!

Handwash non-superwash bases in cold water with minimal wool wash.

The dye-lot refers to the date that your yarn was dyed on! When a colourway has been dyed on the same day, it means it will be from the same batch, and therefore will have been dyed using the same dye stocks.

If you are intending to use more than one skein of any colourway within the same project, it is important to select yarns from the same dye-lot to minimise any differences in colour/tone - this is especially important with tonals. You can mix dye-lots, however alternating skeins may be required to minimise the differences if noticable. If bought at the same time, your yarn will always have come from the same dye-lot, unless otherwise stated within the item listings. If more than one dye-lot is available, this will be clear when purchasing.
